GovBot Community Designations
Read-only access to federal designated areas: whether an address, a point or a census tract falls in a HUD Qualified Census Tract or Difficult Development Area, a Qualified Opportunity Zone, a tract on the 2027 Opportunity Zone nomination eligibility list, or an area that USDA Rural Development maps as ineligible by population for its programs. No account or sign-in is required.
Sources
- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, HUD eGIS: Qualified Census Tracts and Difficult Development Areas (by designation year), Qualified Opportunity Zones (2018 designations) and the 2027 Opportunity Zone nomination eligibility list.
- USDA Rural Development eligibility map service: areas ineligible by population for the Single Family and Multifamily Housing, Rural Business-Cooperative Service, Intermediary Relending, Community Facilities, Water and Environmental, Electric and OneRD Guarantee programs.
- U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder: address matching and the state, county and census tract of a location.
Each result states the publishing agency, service, layer, designation year or vintage and retrieval time. Records are read live from the agencies and held for up to ten minutes to limit repeat requests.

Scope and support
A designation is not a program eligibility determination. Designations change by year, and program rules, applications and final determinations are with the administering agency. USDA Rural Development maps ineligible areas; a location outside them is not thereby eligible for a program. Geocoded coordinates are interpolated along street address ranges and are not parcel or building locations. GovBot is not affiliated with or endorsed by HUD, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Treasury, the Census Bureau or any government agency.
